After a long waiting, Apichatpong Weerjasethakul’s Worldly Desires, will open to local audiences this week at the 9th Thai Short Film and Video Festival. Besides Worldly Desires, other screenings will include shorts-in-competition, ASEAN films, children-made shorts, Southern voices, women films, as well as two special Digital Momentum and Egg Films project. Digital Momentum is the collection of both shorts and features made by independent filmmakers, including Sugarless by former shorts awardwinner Pattana Jirawong, and The Ordinary Romance by Theekhadej Wacharathanin, sound recorder for Apichatpong’s Mysterious Objects at Noon and Blissfully Yours.
