ด่วน ! หนังสือ และ วีซีดี ทองปาน ออกแล้ว

ทองปาน หนังต้องห้ามที่ถูกแบนในช่วงหลังเหตุการณ์ 6 ตุลาคม 2519 ในที่สุดได้รับการรวบรวมเป็นแผ่นวีซีดีขายแล้ว พร้อมคู่มือรวมบทความเสร็จสรรพ์

ทองปาน เป็นความร่วมมือระหว่างโดยทีมงาน “ สมัครเล่น” ที่เป็นอาจารย์ / นักศึกษาทั้งไทยและเทศ รุ่น 14 ตุลา มีคนดัง ๆ เป็นทั้งผู้สร้าง / ผู้กำกับ / ถ่ายทำ / ตัดต่อ และผู้แสดงกิตติมศักดิ์คับคั่ง นักแสดงสมัครเล่นเหล่านี้รวมถึง หงา คาราวาน เสน่ห์ จามริก ส . ศิวรักษ์ และที่สำคัญ คือ องอาจ โพนทอง ผู้รับบทเป็น ทองปานนั้น ต่อมาได้แสดงบทนำในหนังเรื่อง ลูกอีสาน ของคุณาวุฒิอีกด้วย

อ . ชาญวิทย์ เกษตรศิริ เขียนคำนำไว้ว่า “ ภาพยนตร์เรื่อง ทองปาน นี้ อาภัพเมื่อสร้างเกือบจะเสร็จหลังการถ่ายทำเป็นเวลา 2 เดือนที่ชนบทอำเภอบัวใหญ่ จังหวัดนครราชสีมา และหนึ่งสัปดาห์ของฉากการสัมมนาที่ธรรมศาสตร์ ท่าพระจันทร์ ก็เกิดเหตุการณ์นองเลือดและรัฐประหาร 6 ตุลา ( 2519) ทำให้กลายเป็น “ หนังต้องห้าม ” (เป็น หัวแดง หรือ คอมมิวนิสต์)ไป ทีมงานและนักแสดงต้องระหกระเหิน บ้างไปอยู่ต่างประเทศ บ้าง gone to the jungle for justice แต่ ทองปาน ก็โชคดีได้ไปเปิดตัวที่ London Film Festival ภายหลังการตัดต่อเสร็จ และก็ได้รางวัลเกียรติยศ Outstanding Film of Southeast Asia”

Tongpan , wellknown political film was finally released in VCD, with English subtitle, together with a compilation book on related articles and interviews, in both Thai and English.

Collaborated by all of the ‘amateur’ teams, foreigners and Thai, professors and students, Tongpan tells the life of a poor northeasterner who encounters to choose between his poverty and search of justice called by university students. Some of those ‘amateur’ crews, however, become famous figures in Thai society today. Song-for-life singer Surachai ‘Nga’ Jantimathorn, social activists-cum-critics Saneh Jamrik, Sor Siwalak, appeared in the film. Part of the behind-the-scene teams includes Euthana Mukdanasit, leading director in the first Thai New Wave. Main actor Ong-art Ponethong who played Tongpan, was later cast to take another leading role in Wijit Khunavut, Son of the Northeast, one of the best and classic Thai films.

Wellknown historian Charnvit Kasetsiri wrote in the foreward: “It was such a pity film. After two-month shooting in Nakhorn Ratchasima, the film was about to finish but encountered the bloody aftermath and coup de’tat 6 October 1979. Tongpan became mmediately forbidden and charged as ‘red’ or ‘communist’. Most of the filmmakers or performers were forced to escape, to abroad, or ‘gone to the jungle for justice'. The film later opened in London Film Festival and was honoured as the ‘Outstanding Film of Southeast Asia”
