Pen-Ek Rataruang finished shooting his eighth film, officially titled Headshot, in January, casting Cris Horwang (from Bangkok Traffic Love Story) and Nymph's actor Nopachai Jayanama for the lead roles.
Adapted from the novel Fon Tok Kuen Fa (Rain Falling Up the Sky) by awardwinning writer Win Leuwarin,Headshot will be a film noir, featuring the strange, bizarre life of a hitman who is shot in the head and goes into two-month coma. In his wake-up, everthing is upside down and even more in his encounter with a girl.
Headshot is now under the post-production stage, using the same crew as in his previous local film Nymph, including the awardwinning cinematographer Chankit Chamnivikaipong and editor Pattamanadda Yukol. Pawas Sawaschaiyamet and Raymond Phathanavirangoon produce the film.
Headshot, originally titled as Rain Up, has received Bt 8 million support from the Culture Ministry's Strong Economy Fund. The project has also been selected as one of the 28 titles in Tokyo Project Gathering which will be held from 25-28 October, during the Tokyo International Film Festival
French-based Momento International Films handles the international sales.
