A Later Date for Bangkok Film Festival

Cannes - Tourism Authority of Thailand director Jutamas Siriwan announced in Cannes that the 2006 Bangkok International Film Festival would take place at a later date from 17 to 27 February to avoid clashing with other film events, such as Golden Globe Awards (15 January), Sundance Film Festival (19-29 January), and Berlin International Film Festival (9-19 February). In the past three years, Bangkok International Film Festival was held in January.

The festival’s organizers also plan a film market from 20 to 24 February 2006 at Siam Paragon shopping center, which is located near all the participating cinemas and five-star hotels, and has a large exhibition hall suitable for such an event.
